Telework

NOTE: If your supervisor has not yet agreed that you are a candidate for telework, please begin  Step 1  which is a quick self assessment survey.  After you complete the assessment, share it  with your supervisor.  When your supervisor determines that you are a candidate for telework, return to this page for Telework Training step 2.

Step 2 : Telework Training - creating a Telework Agreement

  1. Print out a copy of this Telework Training Workbook (fillable pdf) and read the State Telework Policies found on printed pages 18 and 19.  These policies cover the risk management, legal and personnel concerns that apply to every State employee.

  2. Check with your Agency's Telework Coordinator to see if you have any agency specific telework policies that will apply.  If you do not know who your Agency Telework Coordinator is, just call 602 542-RIDE.

  1. Schedule an hour with your supervisor to watch this Telework Training Video and go through the companion workbook.  You and your supervisor will use the workbook and companion video to identify and answer the more personal concerns that both of you may have about this new working arrangement.  When you find a concern, determine how you will address it and then write your decision in the body of the formal Telework Agreement found on printed pages 15, 16 and 17 of the workbook.  When you and your supervisor are satisfied that you have answered all of your concerns, sign the Telework Agreement and send a copy to your Agency's Telework Coordinator.

  2. Remember your agreement should be kept up to date and revisited annually.

If you just need a telework agreement for a short term, consider using a Temporary Telework Agreement.
